large 1300mm drawer that slides out through the van’s sliding door, creating a huge cooking and preparation area. The drawer can also be accessed from inside the van via the lift-up hatch, which is supported by gas struts for easy opening and convenience.
The straight section of the bench includes two cubby holes, offering plenty of storage, along with an open-back design so no space is compromised. The system is completely modular, allowing the bench to be pulled out into two separate sections. This means you can quickly configure the layout into a U-shape seating area, an L-shape setup, or a full-width bed all in one design.
This particular pod was fitted into a SWB Volkswagen Caddy, but it can also be installed into a Maxi version and a range of other vans as well.
Dimensions for the SWB Caddy setup:
- Bed size: 1600mm x 1100mm
- Pull-out section: 660mm x 1220mm
- Drawer section behind the driver and passenger seats: 1350mm x 400mm
- 320mm to clear the wheel arch leaving the bench 345mm max height
